Staying in? The chances are that you probably are. After weeks in isolation, you might feel it’s finally time to ditch your sweats and dress up to stay in.
Don’t get us wrong, there’s nothing wrong with sports sweatpants and hoodies, but sometimes we can get stuck into *not so exciting* routine (and reality) and you deserve to cheer yourself up. Because when you feel good, you look good.
Luckily, these stay-at-home essentials we’ve been seeing on our Insta feed are nothing but equally comfortable and stylish. Who would know your daily walk or quick pop into the store will become so glamorous, right?
Dress up, stay home
Remarkably versatile and so chic, we spotted fashion girls wearing super cosy knitwear as part of their quarantine style.
“Breathe a new life into your casual daytime outfit by losing sweets and wrapping up in cosy knits instead.”
Whether it’s your new “work uniform” or a comfy outfit to chill in while at home, snug knitwear seems to be the perfect loungewear to slip into right now. You might have just the right one in your existing wardrobe or something new on your wishlist (check online as some brands might have mid-season sales. P.S. You will never go wrong with seasonless pieces). Fortunately, one or two high-quality investment-worthy staples will go a long way when styling your cosy home attire.
Wear it neutral
According to the stylish influences, a muted colour palette is the way to go. Think 50 shades of beige mixed with texture, warmth and classic silhouettes. Styled with some more neutrals, minimal (or no) jewellery and comfortable basics. Simple and chic.
It’s all about layers
This weird transitional weather can be deceiving sometimes, with sunny days one minute and rainy the other. Plus, chilly evenings even when staying indoors.
In this case, layering is the ultimate solution. Thin and soft neutral jumpers are the perfect multi-tasking piece, for example. Easy, no-fuss essential that looks good paired with pretty much everything.
However, if you need extra warmth but pull-on style jumpers aren’t your thing, go for a casual throw on cardigan that is perfect for creating a layered look that will keep you warm and cosy. Wear it over an oversized tee and monochrome trousers.
P.S. Keep things casual, relax and put your feet up in furry slippers.
Alternatively, you can go an extra mile and reach for a co-ord set that will get you that popular matching style. Not only it looks so cool (and super stylish at the moment), but matching trousers and a jumper will keep you cosy without making too much effort. If you feel like your matchy-matchy look needs a bit of sprucing up, add some gold jewels or hair accessories.
“We may all be spending an awful lot more time indoors, but don’t let that defeat your spirit. Or a sense of style. Stay positive, keep safe.”
